Two young Rovers fans have won a visit to their school from their favourites at Doncaster Rovers. Two young Doncaster Rovers fans have been the latest to reap the rewards from the ‘golden ticket’ competition in the form of a home and away shirt each and a visit to their school from some of their favourite faces from the South Yorkshire football club.
10-year-old Hollie Sheldon-Walker from Woodlands Primary School will soon receive her goodies and a very special visit from one of the players she has grown to love from being a Doncaster Rovers fan.
Hollie’s Mum said: “Hollie is so excited. This is the first time she has ever bought a season ticket and wins such a wonderful prize as well. She started going to watch with her older sister and quickly became just as passionate.”
Oliver Roome (12) from Bolton-upon-Dearne is also eagerly awaiting the arrival of the home and away shirts for 2014/2015 season that he can proudly wear when supporting the team, wherever they may be playing.
Oliver has been a supporter of Doncaster Rovers since his family went to see them play as a treat for his older sister’s birthday in 2006.
Oliver soon became an avid supporter of the Vikings and his loyalty and belief in the club have been a huge help during his treatment for Leukaemia.
When finding out he had won Oliver said: “I’m so happy. I love seeing the Rovers play.”
“I’m going to share my prize with my sister as she is a big fan as well and my Leukaemia is tough on us all. We all deserve to enjoy watching the team. “
Shaun Lockwood, head of communications for Doncaster Rovers, said: “This is a great way to show thanks to the club’s loyal young fans. Giving something back helps continue to nurture the love and support these young people have for the Rovers.”
Competition winners were drawn from everybody who bought a season ticket
