Next week we get the lowdown on Doncaster Rovers' newest recruits.
While many eighteen year olds will be relaxing after their exams this summer, four aspiring professionals will be putting in those hard yards and knuckling down as they begin what is, in essence, their new job: Doncaster Rovers footballer.
Ben Askins, Lewis Ferguson, Mitchell Lund and Billy Whitehouse were the latest off the Rovers’ production line and will be attempting to impress their new gaffer, Paul Dickov and follow in the footsteps of the likes of James Husband et al by making it in to the first XI.
Throughout next week, www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk will be speaking with the new kids on the block about how far they’ve come and how far they can go.
The latest coup for Rovers means that 15 players have now made the transition from youth team to first team squad in the last three years and “if they show the right endeavour and application, they will have the same chance as everybody else” according to Dickov.
