Rovers injury woes over

2 May 2014

Barring Club Captain Rob Jones, Doncaster Rovers are injury free.

That was the message given to the press ahead of Saturday’s trip to Champions elects Leicester City.

After a season where key figures have been on the treatment table rather than contributing to the league table, Paul Dickov said he was glad it was all over.

“It’s a big plus,” said the Scot.

“From my point of view, whenever I’ve been able to pick from a fully fit squad, the team’s picked up results and I include James Husband, Richie Wellens, Lucas Neill and Mark Duffy in that.”

The positivity, which has emanated from Dickov despite his side’s barren spell on the pitch, continued as he revealed that star midfielder Harry Forrester, who has been beset by disheartening injuries, has returned to training.

“Even Harry Forrester has trained this week as well; they are five quality additions to a quality squad.

“When I’ve had a fully fit squad to choose from, the performances have been really good, especially against the top teams. Going to Leicester is going to be difficult, but what we have going down there is not just a lot of quality, but a lot of experience as well and we’re going to need it,” he said.
