DICKOV ON…

7 November 2014

Doncaster Rovers manager Paul Dickov covers certain footballing aspects.

Cedric Evina… “We’ve had him scanned and he’s got damage to his medial ligament and he’s got a tiny stress fracture to the inside of his knee too. It will be a minimum of four weeks but it’s not too bad considering how young and fit Cedric is.”

Sam Johnstone… “There’s a bit of work that we’ve done and phone calls made so we’re very grateful to Gareth Southgate who we had a long conversation with the other day and he’s kindly allowed Sam to stay with us and play in the Sheffield United game.”

Luke McCullough… “We also spoke with Michael O’Neill of Northern Ireland and he’s allowed Luke [McCullough] to come back as quick as possible. Whether it will be in time to start the game or not, we don’t know but we’re hoping both will be available.

Cup eligibility… “Andy Butler is free to play in the cup games, as will Enda [Stevens] and Sam Johnstone so that’s big news.”

Points targets… “As staff we set a little target of points from blocks of games but we never translate that to the players as there’s already enough pressure but we have our own targets but it never ever works out like that!”

The Gaffer also gave his thoughts on the signing of Enda Stevens.
