DICKOV ON…

15 November 2014

Gaffer gives his last minute thoughts ahead of Blades clash.

Being feisty… “It’s fantastic, our fans will be behind us, they’re bringing a good following too and I’m looking forward to it. The feistier the better.”

Getting on the front foot… “The onus is on us to get after them. There’s no way we’re going to play at home and sit back and let teams dictate when they’ve got the ball. We’re at our best when we’re on the front foot and pressing the ball and when we’re on the ball, we let our more attacking players go from there.”

Consistent team selection… “You’d like to keep the same side every week but with at least eleven games in six weeks, it will be virtually impossible. The last two performances have been good and we want to build on that and become more consistent.”

Fixture congestion… “Sometimes the fixture congestion isn’t a bad thing if you’re doing well – which we want to do – and trying to pick positives out of it, the players who haven’t hadn’t much game time now have a chance to get back up to speed.”

Drawing Oldham in the next round of the FA Cup…. “We’ve still got a tricky tie at Weston and I think it would be disrespectful to even contemplate facing Oldham in the second round.”
