Foundation Friday: Rugby Academy Launched

28 November 2014

The Club Doncaster Foundation are pleased to announce the introduction of the new Rugby League Academy Programme.

Teaming up with Doncaster RLFC, the Foundation offers students aged 16-19 the chance to study, train and play as part of the Club Doncaster Foundation Rugby League Academy.

The programme runs alongside the learners academic qualifications, training up to 12 hours each week on top of full-time study, giving those with a passion for rugby league the opportunity to play the sport alongside gaining a pathway to university.

Following on from the success of the of the Club Doncaster Foundation Football Academy and Dance Academy, the Rugby Academy will now be looking to emulate this.

The Club Doncaster Foundation offers full time courses at BTEC Levels 2 and 3 where students obtain valuable skills for gaining employment and a pathway to university.

Anyone studying full-time with the Foundation can participate and be part of the squad with the chance to be trained by Doncaster RLFC first team coaches and members of the current Dons playing squad.

All coaches are highly professional and qualified at a minimum UKCC level 2.

This is a unique opportunity for you to represent the Club Doncaster Foundation and Doncaster RLFC, competing against other colleges throughout Yorkshire.

The Education Foundation oversaw 170 learners through a range of nationally recognised qualifications in 2013 alone, and has picked up prestigious awards for excellence in education.

There are no course fees for any of our programmes, however there are entry requirements for some courses.  Places are limited and people interested in applying must do so by applying online.
