Gaffer gives his thoughts on various aspects of club life at the moment.

THE INTERNATIONAL BREAK: “We wish our internationals the best and we’d have possibly wanted a league game on Saturday to build on the wins but it says a lot for the club to have three internationals at a League One club and it’s fantastic. I was lucky enough to represent my country and it’s a proud moment for me and we’re delighted for them.”

MANAGERIAL TENSION (Wenger v Mourinho): “I don’t think it’s a bad thing, they’re two of the best Premier League managers and they’re passionate and it shows they’re not robots and they’re human and only sticking up for their players. It’s a fine line but you’ve got to not get carried away and keep it under wraps a little bit. People want to see passion because it might have gone out of the game a little bit of late.”

BOTH BOXES: “We know we’ve got good players in the team and we know we’ve got players that are capable of winning games for us. On the flip side, defensively as a team we need to have our concentration levels high for all of the game.”

MARC DE VAL: “If we can get him on the ball with Richie [Wellens] and Dean [Furman] he’ll make a big impact. He’s got a tendency to go round and be a little bit rash at time but he’s a fantastic kid and he’s done great for me and we think a lot of him. People raised their eyebrows when he was left out but there was a reason behind that and there’s always a reason for those omissions even though we don’t publicise it, but he’s come in and been excellent.”

MITCHELL LUND: “He’s a good player and he's going to be a very good player. He's somebody who when we came in and he was in the youth team, that we earmarked for pushing him in to the first team squad but he's still young and he's got to learn but I thought he showed great maturity against Burton.”
