Rovers International Report

14 October 2014

Two of Doncaster Rovers' playing squad have been in international action recently.

Luke McCullough made his international debut for Northern Ireland on Saturday in a routine win over Faroe Islands.

The 2-0 victory, at Belfast’s Windsor Park, was all but sewn up by the time the Doncaster Rovers defender came on as a second half substitute to replace one of the goalscorers Gareth McAuley.

Kyle Lafferty grabbed the other goal as Michael O’Neill’s men, who top Group F, head to face former European Champions Greece tonight.

Meanwhile, Dean Furman was also in action for his native South Africa as the Bafana Bafana defeated Congo by two goals to nil.

The central midfielder registered an assist to his name as he set up Tokelo Rantie for the second goal of the game to leapfrog their opponents in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying table.

The Rainbow Nation are now undefeated at the half way stage with 7 points from a possible nine and return to the north eastern city of Polokwane for their second meeting with Congo in four days.
