What The Papers Say

6 October 2014

A brief round up of the media's take on Saturday's 2-1 win against Scunthorpe.

Sheffield Star - Dean Furman, Marc De Val and Nathan Tyson were all named in the Sheffield Star’s team of the week, with the latter being described as follows:
“Nathan Tyson (Doncaster Rovers): Caused Scunthorpe problems all afternoon with his pace and need to chase down every ball. He forced United into several errors at the back and capped off a fine performance, following his return from a head injury, with a fine goal which proved to be the all-important match-winner for Paul Dickov’s side.”

Scunthorpe Telegraph - "Derby despair compounded another disappointing defeat for Scunthorpe United as they let slip a first-half lead in their home loss to Doncaster Rovers.
The Iron have not beaten their South Yorkshire neighbours in eight years..."

Doncaster Free Press - "Paul Dickov’s men took the derby day bragging rights as Nathan Tyson returned to the starting line-up to clinch the match-winner at Glanford Park."

BBC Sport - "Doncaster came from behind to beat Scunthorpe in League One and secured only their second win in seven games. Paddy Madden went close to firing the hosts ahead before fellow striker Rory Fallon opened their account with a low left-footed drive. But Doncaster were level six minutes later when captain James Coppinger pounced from close range. Nathan Tyson netted the winner after the break, finishing in the bottom corner after some poor Iron defending."

And how we reported it…Doncaster Rovers FC - "Rovers got back to winning ways with a well deserved victory at Glanford Park, as goals from Nathan Tyson and James Coppinger ensured Paul Dickov's men returned to Doncaster with all three points."
