Lewis Loving First Team Life

Made in Doncaster: Ferguson focussed on impressing management.

Flying winger Lewis Ferguson says he is itching to make his first team debut and revealed exclusively to www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk that his time nearly came against Fulham on Tuesday night.

“It’s nice that the gaffer's shown trust in me and he nearly threw me on at Fulham,” he said.

“I was close to making my debut and the buzz was unreal.

“It was class to watch all the great stadiums on TV and then be there warming up with the squad ahead of a league cup tie.”

Ferguson has worked his way up through the Doncaster Rovers youth system and finds himself standing on the cusp of first team action, should he sufficiently impress first team coach, Paul Dickov.

“I need minutes to say I’m fit and I’m hoping to use the development games as a route in to the first team,” Ferguson said.

“I have to make the teas and take the ribbings but its all part of the experience. I get advice from the likes of Copps who tells me what to do and how to be more like him.

“The standard and the quality is so much different. Any mistakes are picked up on straight away and it’s not as easy as I expected it.”
