Rovers Player Statement

27 September 2014

Club Statement on recent Rovers Player issues.

We are aware that subscribers to Rovers Player once again experienced problems listening to commentary of today’s fixture.

No one at the club believes this is acceptable and we will be doing our very best to work with partners during the next few days to ensure the problem is not only fixed for the next fixture but permanently.

As part of the work in the build up to a match commentary equipment is tested both prior to and on the day of the game.  These tests are to ensure that the live commentary service works, therefore we share the frustrations of supporters when this service fails.

The Rovers player service is externally hosted by the PERFORM platform, as part of the Football League Interactive service.  Once our commentators are dialled in on a match day we receive a signal to confirm the service is live.  Once the service is live there is no change to the equipment and therefore very few reasons why the commentary should cut out, as it did today, part way through broadcast.

We are already in dialogue with PERFORM to ensure that our users do not experience the fall out in service again.

Whilst we don’t believe the issues experienced with Player are a direct result of actions of the club, we are aware it is the clubs supporters who suffer when the service doesn’t work.  Therefore as a gesture of goodwill we wish to offer all our Player Subscribers a £5 gift voucher for the ticket office, to compensate for the issues experienced in recent games with the service.

We will promise to update supporters with feedback during the next 72 hours.
