Doncaster Rovers Under 18’s will face Chesterfield in Round 2 of the Youth Alliance Cup after a 1-0 win away at Morecambe.
Liam Mandeville scored the only goal of the tie in what proved to be the winner.After the game Under 18 Head Coach Paul Stancliffe said: “I’m pleased with the boys performance, we played well and with a bit more composure in front of goal it could have been more.
“Jack McLaren had a very good game with a fantastic save in the last minute to ensure we made it through.”
It is a competition that Rovers know well, having won the trophy in 2012 with a 4-0 win over Exeter City.
The next round of the competition will be played at Cantley Park on Saturday 4th October, Kick Off 11am.
