PREVIEW: Dons v ROVERS

20 April 2015

Tuesday 21st April 2015 (7:45pm), Stadium:MK, Sky Bet League One.

Doncaster Rovers go in to Tuesday’s meeting with MK Dons knowing that they can still play a part in the final League 1 reckonings.

Karl Robinson’s Dons are third in the table, just one point behind Preston North End and both sides are left scrapping to join Champions elect Bristol City with three games remaining.

The Buckinghamshire club – who have only defeated Doncaster once in seven attempts since their reformation – are the league’s top scorers with 90 goals and have scored almost a quarter of those in their last seven games, which have yielded 19 points!

For Rovers, it is mathematically guaranteed that they will be in the third tier again next season after Saturday’s stalemate with Fleetwood Town.

Paul Dickov has laid the challenge down to his side to end the season unbeaten and the aim is a top half finish.

The South Yorkshire side have not visited Stadium:MK for a little over two years, where they were soundly beaten 3-0 thanks to a first half strike from Izale MacLeod and second half strikes from midfielders Daniel Powell and Stephen Gleeson.

The pair played out a 0-0 draw at the Keepmoat Stadium earlier in the season, with Rovers nullifying the attacking threats of Will Grigg (19 goals) and recently crowned Football League Young Player of the Year, Delle Ali (16 goals).
