What The Papers Say

20 April 2015

A quick flick through a variety of match reports from Saturday's draw with Fleetwood Town.

Yorkshire Post - BOTH Doncaster Rovers’ and Fleetwood Town’s play-off hopes were mathematically ruled out after they served up this unappetising stalemate.
A lack-lustre first half at the Keepmoat Stadium saw both teams struggling to create any chances.
Rovers had the better of an improved second period, but this result saw them goalless on home soil for the 11th time this season.

Sheffield Star - As the game continued to meander almost aimlessly, Tyson headed Kyle Bennett’s cross over when he should have hit the target.
Rovers enjoyed their best spell of pressure in the closing stages but Wellens saw his cross-cum-shot parried by Maxwell, who also made a smart save to keep out substitute Harry Forrester.

Blackpool Gazette - Fleetwood Town barely troubled Doncaster keeper Stephen Bywater as they ground out a 0-0 draw at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Josh Morris’ long range drive, which drifted harmlessly over the bar was the closest Graham Alexander’s side came to scoring on a dour afternoon in the Doncaster sunshine.

And how we reported it… There was more late pressure from Rovers, this time from Forrester as his snap-shot forced a great save from Maxwell and it looked like it wouldn’t be Rovers day. Despite Paul Dickov’s side enjoying the majority of the possession, the referee drew a game with few chances to a close and it ended goalless.
