FF: New students warm up for September

7 August 2015

Foundation Friday looks at how Club Doncaster Education Foundation last week held two events to welcome new students ahead of the 2015/16 academic year.

Over 80 first years attended the events which kicked off with a get together at Doncaster Bowl where students were able to meet others on their course and the Education Foundation staff whilst showing off their bowling skills!

The event also marked the launch of the varsity hoodies available free of charge to each student who can chose from a red DRFC, Blue Dons or Grey student hooded top.

Each Foundation student also received their complimentary Doncaster Rovers and Doncaster Rugby League season tickets having confirmed their place on course.

The second event saw the Keepmoat Stadium Soccer Centre stage a 5-a-side football tournament in glorious sunshine. Twelve teams were randomly picked to compete, with Foundation staff refereeing the matches.

A trophy presentation rounded off two enjoyable events which have helped prepare students for their September start.

Principal Jenna Scully said: “We have had two successful events where students have got to know each other and been given an insight into the Club Doncaster Education Foundation experience.

The events are designed to help students feel at ease ahead of joining us for their studies and ensure a smooth induction process.

We are really looking forward to them starting on our courses and representing our football and rugby academies in the new academic year.”

An extremely limited number of places are available for students wanting to enrol in September 2015. For more info on the Education Foundation visit www.drfc-education.co.uk
