Lund wants more

18 December 2015

Mitchell Lund said he only had eyes for continued improvement upon signing his three and a half year contract extension with the club.

Lund, along with Harry Middleton, penned a huge deal in the week and he doesn’t want it to end there.

“It’s been up all of the way and I want that to continue,” he said.

“I’m delighted for me and Harry and my family and the team so we’re buzzing and I’m happy.

“It’s every boys dream really to get a long term deal at the club that they’ve grown up so I can’t really ask for much more.”

Lund’s story has a slight anomaly in the fact that his twin brother Spencer didn’t make the grade at the club, but is keen to make his own mark at Keepmoat Stadium.

“I was 12 when I signed for Doncaster and I went up through the ranks and got a scholarship with my twin brother.

“I played every game in my first year which was a great achievement and went in to my second year playing all those as well without injuries.

“I was lucky enough to get a pro contract and it’s gone from there to be fair. You obviously want to play as many games as you can so you take each game on its own and hopefully you can play as many games as possible.

“We’ve got a good structure about ourselves and we know what the gaffer wants.

“I think I am quite versatile and I like playing everywhere to be fair, I can play anywhere along the back four or on the wing and, you never know, arrive at the back post with a goal!”

Join us on Boxing Day at the Keepmoat Stadium as we look to make it eight wins from eight against rivals Scunthorpe. Don't miss a minute of the action! Buy your tickets HERE.
