Andy Butler has been nominated for January’s Sky Bet League One player of the month.Butler, a former Walsall defender, only signed permanently for Doncaster at the beginning of the year – after a successful loan spell – and he has gone on to make several impressive displays.
The 31 year old has been influential in a back line that has kept five clean sheets in its last seven league outings and he also registered his second goal of the campaign in Rovers colours in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Chesterfield at the weekend.
Doncaster born Butler faces stiff competition for the accolade from Spurs bound superstar Dele Alli of MK Dons, Tom Eastman of Colchester United and Tom Hopper of Scunthorpe.
