Junior Takeover Day

23 February 2015

This Saturday we welcome school Children from all over Doncaster to be part of our first ever Junior Takeover day!

School children that are actively working with Club Doncaster Foundation were invited to apply for jobs here at Rovers and those children that were successful will be here on Saturday when we play Colchester United.

Some of the roles that the children will be shadowing will be Stadium Manager, CEO, Tannoy announcer, Referee and even the first team manager so it should be a fun day and one that the schools and the children will never forget.

Marketing and Communications Manager Ryan Murrant said “As a Club we need to engage more with local schools that are already actively working with Liam Scully’s foundation. We need to develop those relationships. The idea of the children applying for the jobs encourages the children to use their reading and writing skills and it get’s them thinking about what type of roles would interest them, it could give them something to aim for later in life!

"The day should be a fantastic one and great fun for the 50 children involved, their parents and also for the staff here who will no doubt be asked some very interesting questions. Moving into next season we will look to develop the concept further”.

Be sure to follow us across social media via @drfc_official and on the website on Saturday where we will be covering the event.
