Tuesday night’s emphatic 5-0 win over Crawley Town was the largest away win by the club since defeating Hartlepool United 6-0 at Victoria Park in 1989, and is subsequently the largest away win in the third tier during the club’s history.Paul Dickov’s side ran riot in Sussex and the result was the biggest win – home or away – since a 7-0 demolition of Crook Town at Belle Vue in the 99/00 FA Cup.
Rovers defeated the Red Devils with goals from Andy Butler, Richie Wellens, Nathan Tyson, Harry Forrester and Curtis Main; the first time five different scorers have scored in the same game since Rovers beat Hayes at home during the 01/02 season in the Conference.
