Club Doncaster Launch Ambassador Scheme

Foundation Friday sees Club help the local footballing community.

The Club Doncaster Foundation are pleased to announce the launch of the new amateur club ambassador scheme, helping to support junior football clubs within the local community.

The free amateur club led initiative will provide clubs with tools to capacity build, host holiday camps and also access accredited training workshops that will be developed with Doncaster Rovers Performance department.


 
Delivered via a monthly meeting, the Foundation will meet with a key member from the amateur club feeding back to the various ages of their teams.

Ahead of Rovers’ match with Notts County. the first meeting was held at the Keepmoat Stadium, with seven clubs in attendance.

Speaking about the scheme the Foundation Community Manager Gareth Cook said: “The club already has a very good relationship with the local junior clubs in the area, but we want to strengthen that even further and it is a key role of ours to help support volunteers who give up their time to produce future stars and inspire children and young people to keep active.”

“Having previous experience in rugby league offering a similar service, the Foundation will now be able to offer a wider programme of expertise to those in the community.

“We were really pleased with the success of the first meeting held on Tuesday and we look forward to welcoming and helping new clubs throughout Doncaster.”
