Job Vacancy: Academy Physiotherapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a physiotherapist for Doncaster Rovers

ROLE

To manage, co-ordinate and supervise all medical provision for academy players and staff of all ages from 9 to 18years of age, under the guidelines of the Elite Player Performance Plan

• To assist the Head Physiotherapist with his day to day workload in order to create a medical department that is viewed as excellent in the management of injuries
• To manage all full time or part time academy physiotherapists effectively to ensure the smooth operation of the schoolboy medical provision 
• To provide injury assessment and treatment clinics and ensure the smooth running of physiotherapy cover at schoolboy training sessions and the games programme
• Membership of the Academy Technical Board and Academy Management Team and attend all meetings 
• This position would suit a newly qualified physiotherapist or someone looking for their first role within professional sport.

• Other locations as required to fulfil the needs of the role

HOURS OF WORK

• Minimum of 35 hours per week 
• Flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the post

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the management of all injuries effectively and meeting the commitment to the players, coaches and senior management through clinical audit and accurate documentation 
• Liaise with the Academy Manager/Academy staff on a daily basis to effectively inform them regarding availability of the academy players for training and matches
• Produce an injury audit on a monthly and annual basis for all squads within the academy and feedback to provide accountability for the department and actively seek to follow best practice 
• To work alongside the academy sports science coach in order to deliver effective injury prevention strategies across all age groups, to include individual and group sessions 
• Organise in service/training dates to improve the knowledge of coaching staff, players and parents of the academy
• Provide musculo-skeletal screening/profiling for all full time academy players and keep detailed reports in secured files on all academy players 
• To organise and implement the medical provisions for all training camps/tours for the academy teams 
• To ensure that all medical equipment and procedures are regularly reviewed and maintained at the training ground and all academy venues
• Undertake travel as and when required to support the effectiveness of the academy programme.                                                                                       
• To accompany all players to medical consultations at short notice, ensuring that best practice is followed at all times and ensuring that the players/parents receive optimal care at all times, making sure that         insurance partners are always informed prior to any appointments being attended 
• To lead and co-ordinate the pre signing medical assessments of all academy and development squad players    
• Attending Football League, Football Association and regional meetings as and when required
• Attend internal in-service training and look to undertake FA courses to develop experience and qualifications
