Paul Wilson “up for the cup"

21 January 2015

Doncaster Rovers Youth Team travel South Wales this evening, looking for a place in the fifth round of this season’s FA Youth Cup.

Paul Wilson and Paul Stancliffe’s side meet Premier League Swansea City in Llanelli, looking to go further than their senior counterparts.

“The boys are excited,” said Wilson

“We’re all up for it; the experience of travelling down, staying overnight and preparing properly will be a big learning curve in the development for the boys.

“We’ve watched Swansea a couple of times and it will be a tough game and we’ll have to play well to get a result.”

Wilson put any designs on meeting Chelsea – who lie in wait in the fifth round – firmly on the ‘backburner’ for now, however.

“It’s a big incentive,” he admitted.

“But thoughts of Chelsea in the next round can wait for now, though.

“The experiences that the likes of Liam Wakefield and Harry Middleton have gained through playing in this environment against clubs who are able to scour the world for talent has proved invaluable and helps them immensely with the rigours of featuring in League One.”

The game kicks off at 7pm. Follow all the action LIVE on the ROVERS WALL
