New signing Ikpeazu makes statement of intent.

Uche Ikpeazu has set his sights firmly on propelling Doncaster Rovers up the League One table.

The nineteen year old striker yesterday signed on loan until the end of the season and cited his ambitions.

“The chance of promotion was one of the reasons I came here,” he said in an exclusive to

“Obviously they were in the Championship and got relegated last season but they’re only two points off the play-offs with a few games in hand and I believe now that I’m here I can help push for promotion.

“It’s quite well developed for a League One side, the stadium is massive and the facilities are really impressive.”

The Watford loanee previously spent time on loan at Crewe Alexandra and showed some of the Rovers faithful a glimpse of his qualities when he scored in a 1-1 draw between the two sides in November.

“I had to show my gratitude to Crewe because they gave me my first opportunity which no other team did and I will be forever grateful; they’ve helped me and I’ve helped them,” he said.

“It was good to play against Doncaster, it was my first game there and it was a good test.

“Obviously I’m excited to join such a massive club; I just want to get going really. It’s good to be here, I’ve left Crewe but I’m happy to come here and can’t wait for the off.”

Ikpeazu will go straight in to manager Paul Dickov’s plans for Saturday’s local clash against Chesterfield at the Proact Stadium and he not is short on confidence.

“I’m powerful and quite quick and I score goals,” levelled Ikpeazu.

“As a striker you want to score goals.

“My fitness level is quite good because I’ve played a few games this season and I’m getting fitter and fitter and it’s important that I continue to play games."

Ikpeazu's home debut looks set to be on Saturday 7th February against Walsall. For ticket info CLICK HERE.
