ATS: It's the right club

20 July 2015

Defender delighted with Doncaster deal and looks forward to starting again in English football.

New signing Aaron Taylor-Sinclair has said that Doncaster Rovers is the “right club” for him to progress at.

The 24 year old defender put pen to paper on a two year contract after departing Wigan Athletic.

“I’m over the moon to come here and after speaking to the manager I knew this was the right club for me to progress in my career,” said the Scot.

“I just want to get back playing again. I had a tough spell at Wigan not playing as much as I’d wanted, but I just want to get back playing and enjoy my football again as well as performing well.

“I try to be as close to a modern day full back as you can get. I like to get up and down the pitch, I always give 100% and that’s what I want to bring to the team.”

Taylor-Sinclair cited the influence of fellow countryman and new manager Paul Dickov on the transfer.

“Speaking to the manager and hearing his thoughts and plans for the upcoming season made me want to come and play my football here,” said Taylor-Sinclair.

“Paul had a massive influence on me coming here. After speaking to him and finding out what he sees for me here can only be good going forward.

“Tomorrow [versus Nottingham Forest] will be important game time in the first home pre season friendly. You can do all the training you want but it’s the matches where you get your real fitness and I’ll hopefully be a part of some of the game tomorrow and I look forward to that.”
