Signage Partner Brings History to Life at Football Club

8 July 2015

Makeover of hospitality facilities complete with Rovers touch.

Fans of Doncaster Rovers will be able to re-live the club’s greatest moments at every home game thanks to Yorkshire print specialists Pinders.

Ahead of the new season, Sheffield-based Pinders has supplied and fitted a number of nostalgic floor to ceiling displays and custom-printed wallpapers.

Rovers recently announced Pinders as its signage partner and commissioned the creative family-run business to give its corporate reception and corporate lounge a distinctive new look. Pinders is also proudly sponsoring Rovers’ shorts for the coming season.

Supporters will get a chance to take a first look at the new refurbishment alongside club greats including James Coppinger, Colin Douglas, Laurie Sheffield, Tim Ryan, Jan Budtz, who will gather this Thursday for an official unveiling.

Renovations have been taking place during the close season and the project has added poignancy for Pinders Managing Director David Whiteway.

“My grandfather Arthur Pinder, who founded the business in 1938, was a shareholder in Rovers. I recently found his old share certificates and so we’ve framed them and Rovers are keen to incorporate them into the new lounge," he said.

“Now Pinders is working closely with Rovers as a partner supplying signage, displays and print, it feels like history has gone full circle. We’re also sponsoring the team’s shorts this season.”

With just a fortnight to go until the first friendly against Nottingham Forest, the club’s Commercial Manager Andrew Whitham said there was real excitement about showcasing the new facilities.

"It is fantastic to be working in partnership with Pinders which is a modern dynamic business with a strong heritage and interesting links to Rovers," he said.

“This upgrade has been a really big thing for us this summer and we can't wait for supporters to come along and enjoy the all new Legends Club experience this year.

“It is great that some of our current and former greats will be joining us for the opening, because it’s their contributions over the years which have inspired this new concept.

"With the friendlies just a couple of weeks away we want to give supporters a chance to come down and see the changes that have been made."

The unveiling is open to all, and takes place on Thursday 9th July between 5.30pm-7.30pm and will include samples of menus available next season.
