Rovers have been given a major boost off the pitch after Official East Stand Sponsor Donasonic committed to a further two years support of the club.

The Doncaster based waste materials recycling company work specifically in the production of bio-energy, using cutting edge technology to turn waste into clean non fossil fuels.

After becoming involved with the club approximately 18 months ago, an agreement has been made that will see the ‘Donasonic East Stand’ naming rights deal continue until the end of the 2017 season.

Sean Cassidy, Donasonic Director, was born and raised in the town and said that this agreement was just the latest chapter in a lifelong relationship with the club.

He said: “I have been involved with the club from being a young boy and have spent the last 40 years supporting them.

“Since playing for Doncaster Boys as a lad I have watched the club from the lows to the highs and always supported them with my heart.  To be able to support them now financially makes me very proud.”

Donasonic provide a solution to the global need to recycle while simultaneously creating new energy sources that are sustainable for the future commercially and economically.

The solution addresses the urgent need to process thousands of tonnes of food and organic waste on a daily basis throughout Asia.

Sean said that in a continent where football is an obsession to many, Donasonic’s association with Doncaster Rovers is paying major dividends.

He said: “We are designing the machines in Doncaster, manufacturing in Yorkshire and selling to various plants throughout Asia.

“Being able to talk about our sponsorship of Doncaster Rovers has been crucial.  It has supported the company and in some cases really helped in cases of gaining contracts.”

In the last 18 months Donasonic and Doncaster Rovers Football Club have built up a very good relationship and senior commercial sales executive Jon Warburton said he was looking forward to seeing that continue.

Jon said: “The East Stand has been known as the ‘Donasonic East Stand’ for some time now and it is great that it will stay that way for the next two years at least.

“Sean, their Director, speaks glowingly of his time playing for Doncaster Boys.  Having people like that who have got the club in their heart is really important to us.

“But then not only that, the fact that they are doing such great things on a global scale as well makes them the sort of organisation the club really wants to be involved with.”
