World Cup Webb at Keepmoat

15 July 2015

South Yorkshire's most famous football referee to take charge of Business Cup.

Former Premier League and World Cup final referee, Howard Webb is set to officiate this weekend’s Crown Hotel Bawtry Doncaster Business Cup.

Businessmen from across Doncaster will descend on the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday, July 18th (3pm kick off) for the fifth annual football fundraiser.

“I’m delighted to be back in South Yorkshire refereeing the Crown Hotel Doncaster Business Cup,” said Rotherham-born Webb who, in 2010, became the first referee to take charge of the Champions League final and World Cup final in the same year.

Money raised from the event will be donated to five local charities: Firefly, Aurora, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Club Doncaster Foundation and North Ridge Community School.

Last year’s Business Cup raised £7,500 for Doncaster-based cancer charity Firefly and organisers have set their sights on doubling that figure.

Team Plant and Team Van Steen have both been training on a weekly basis at Doncaster Rovers’ Cantley Park training ground in preparation for Saturday.

It would be fantastic to see lots of fans down supporting the teams.

Tickets for the Doncaster Business Cup are now available to buy at the Keepmoat Stadium ticket office, priced £5 adults, £3 children.
