Rovers to produce signature dish, Yorkshire Caviar, after meetings with caterers and fans.

Culinary offerings at Keepmoat Stadium are set to take a turn for the better ahead of next season’s League One campaign.

Progress has been made between Doncaster Rovers FC and their supporters with the help of catering company Centreplate following discussions to improve the matchday fayre.

On the menu for next season will be ‘Yorkshire Caviar’ (pie, peas and gravy to those outside the White Rose county), as well as better quality burgers and improvements to miscellaneous items e.g. chips with curry sauce for £3, a wider range of chocolate bars and new condiments such as mayonnaise, brown sauce and mint sauce.

Centreplate also confirmed that the kiosks will receive a facelift in time for the new season, much to the delight of Marketing and Communications Manager, Ryan Murrant.

“It’s great that Centreplate have listened to what the fans want and are putting it in to practice to improve the offering to fans,” he said.

“We want to make ‘Yorkshire Caviar’ a ‘go to’ dish that fans enjoy and will come back for more of.

“It doesn’t stop there though; Centreplate have agreed to put on lots of offers which I think is brilliant such as 2 pints for £6 in the Belle Vue Bar (45 minutes or more prior to kick off). Our families will be well cared for too with the possibility of Donny Dog delivering healthy lunches a reality!”

Supporters have always been quick to have their say regarding the catering at Keepmoat Stadium and Wes Grimes – who has been instrumental in the Black Bank movement – has helped to push through some of the changes after his less than favourable experiences.

“I’d like to firstly thank Dean Stones of Centreplate for keeping an open mind and listening to what the fans have called for,” said Wes, of the Doncaster Rovers Supporters Group.

“The club have certainly played their part and have been working hard to improve what’s served up on a matchday.

“Hopefully fans will get here that little bit earlier and tuck in!”

Centreplate will also continue their offer of ‘Pie and a Pint’ costing just £5 (until 30 mins before kick off)!

All the new food – including ‘Yorkshire Caviar’ (£4) which will be available in the Belle Vue Bar – will be accessible at the pre-season friendlies; tickets for which can be bought HERE.
