First signing of the summer Thorsten Stuckmann speaks having signed a two year deal with the club.
Doncaster Rovers earlier announced the signing of experienced goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann on a two year deal*.
German born Stuckmann joined Preston North End in 2011, going on to make 77 appearances for the North West side and was also voted their Player Of The Year for the 2011/12 season.
On joining Rovers Stuckmann said: "I did have the chance to sign for Preston in the Championship but as a player I want to be out on the pitch playing games.
"One of the reasons I signed was because of the team Paul is trying to create and I believe I can achieve something special with this club.
"I spoke with Iain Hume and Sam Johnstone about the club and they both said really positive things. They said it's a great club with great fans and advised me to join if the opportunity came along."
With two promotions to his name, Stuckmann will bring a wealth of experience to the Rovers side and says he wants to go right to the top.
"I'm here to go to the top," he said.
"I'm a commanding goalkeeper, I'm very vocal but I like to always remain positive. I want to affect people's game in a positive way when out on the pitch.
"I've been in the play-offs the last two years which has been an amazing experience. The play-offs are hard and not always nice, especially if you're not on the winning team, but I think Doncaster has the potential to get back into the Championship and that's what I'm here to help with.
