McCullough & McLaren Make Squads

16 March 2015

Rovers have international representatives.

Luke McCullough has been called up to Michael O’Neill’s Northern Ireland side to face Scotland and Finland at the end of the month.

The Doncaster Rovers defender has been impressive form domestically this term and the twenty-one year old has already made three appearances for the senior national side.

McCullough – who signed a contract extension to keep him at Keepmoat Stadium until the summer of 2017 – will have Rovers youngster Jack McLaren following in his footsteps.

Goalkeeper McLaren has been selected for Northern Ireland’s U19’s friendly matches in Holland later this month and could feature for his country against the Netherlands U19’s and a youth team from Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar.

Doncaster Rovers Youth Team coach Paul Wilson said: “We are absolutely delighted for Jack. He thoroughly deserves it.

“He’s a smashing lad who works his socks off and it couldn’t have happened to anyone better.

“As a club, he goes with our best wishes and we hope he gains some valuable experience from it.”

Rovers have a rich history of Northern Ireland representatives with Harry Gregg, Len Graham, Peter Doherty, David Healy, Dean Shiels, and Sammy Clingan having played for both.
