Mental Strength Required - PD

Manager seeking clear thinking from his players in the haze of "crazy" League One.

Paul Dickov described Sky Bet League One as “crazy” but says his side must embrace it if they are to end the season on a high.

The Scot was not panicking after seeing his side lose to Peterborough United at home on Saturday and was instead focussing on rectifying the defeat on Tuesday against Swindon Town.

“It’s a crazy league we know that, but we’ve just got to make sure we get back on track by getting a result in tonight’s game along with a performance that matches it as well,” he said.

“It’s going to go down to the wire. But we’ve got ten games left and that’s 30 points to play for.

“Everybody in and around us has still got to play each other so with ten games to go, one thing we have got to start doing is winning games and we want to go for the three points tonight.”

Rovers, should they defeat the Robins, would complete an unlikely double against the third placed side, having won 1-0 at the County Ground in December.

“Swindon are a fantastic footballing team. They play the game in the right way, but we’ve got a result against them already this season so we can take that confidence into tonight,” said the Scot.

“When we concentrate on ourselves and play the way we want to play, we’re a good team.

“A promotion winning side has got to go out and play. We can’t be nervous and have to be mentally strong. We want the players to work hard and show a real determination to get results.

“Teams that have the mental strength will be the ones who will get rewarded.

“It’s important not to get too down after one defeat, we're still in a good position.“
