JUNIOR FOOTBALL FESTIVAL REVIEW

26 May 2015

Doncaster Rovers hosted it’s first ever football festival over the weekend.

The tournament took place on the Doncaster Rovers Soccer Centre, with teams from all over Yorkshire and Lincolnshire taking part.

Doncaster Rovers scouts were present and they were delighted with the quality of football on show.

Colin Broadhurst, Doncaster Rovers Academy Coach stated: “The tournament was played in such a good spirit, the lads are a credit to their clubs and some of the football played by the lads was of highest quality.”

Doncaster Rovers would like to offer congratulations to Hessle (Under 7’s), Alwoodley (Under 8’s), Appleby Froddingham (Under 9’s) and Spoatley (Under 10’s) who ran out eventual winners of their respective tournaments, after some highly competitive games.

The winners will be guest of Doncaster Rovers at one of our pre-season games and also be treated to a VIP training ground experience.

Commencing in early June, Doncaster Rovers will be hosting its first ever junior six-a-side football league and are currently looking for teams to take part.

The leagues will run over an eight-week period and will take place on a Tuesday and Thursday evening between 5.00pm and 7.00pm in a child friendly environment. The leagues are FA affiliated and will be played at the home of the Doncaster Rovers Academy teams - the Soccer Centre at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Teams from Under 7’s to Under 10’s can take part and there is a trophy for the winners with the final taking place at half-time during a Doncaster Rovers game.

If you would like to find out more or to book your teams place in either the tournament or the league, please call Colin Broadhurst on 07936 271698 or the Soccer Centre on 01302 762562.
