Tyson: Time to Improve

14 May 2015

Front man fronts up and preaches forward thinking from all concerned.

Nathan Tyson has called for an improved mentality from all quarters for when the 2015/16 season gets underway.

The experienced front man further explained just what it takes to be a successful professional footballer.

“[You’ve got to have] the mentality in terms of conducting yourself in the right manner before games, during games and off the field,” said the 14 goal striker.

“It’s about getting your head on the game and you have to really, really want it.

“It’s okay for a good player who can just go through the motions – anyone can turn up – but it’s about proving that you’re better than that and doing better than that and putting your body on the line.”

The former Nottingham Forest and Derby County striker has been very open about how close he came to quitting the game but says he understands those who struggle to get to grips with the mental demands of elite football.

“Some people need help with it, some want to bottle it up and I’ve been all of those things,” Tyson admitted.

“I’ve got great experience of being on both sides. It’s the mentality required to play week in week out.”
