ATS: Spirit is High

20 November 2015

Defender happy to adapt to new role for Rovers and is seeing rewards!

Aaron Taylor-Sinclair says that spirit in the camp is high off the back of three successive wins.

Taylor-Sinclair has been part of a reshaped back line which has now gone 352 minutes and counting without conceding a goal.

“As a defender, a clean sheet is what we pride ourselves on and gives ourselves a base to get forward,” he said.

“I’ve enjoyed it. Personally, I’m playing in a different role. I’m used to playing as a full back but I’m now a left sided centre half and I’m really enjoying it.

“There’s a lot that I’ve got to learn as I go along but it’s been good so far. When the manager came in he spoke to me and said I could play wing back or left sided centre half and I think I’ve done alright so far and long may it continue.”

Taylor-Sinclair was named in the Football League’s ‘Team of the Week’ as he poached his first goal in Rovers colours last week in the 2-0 win over Blackpool and, after the injuries suffered at previous club Wigan, is hoping to work hard and kick on.

“We’ve trained hard this week preparing for the game on Saturday. Sometimes it’s good to train for a week so the manager can fully work on Rochdale.

“Sometimes though it’s good that the games come thick and fast because as a footballer you want to play.

“Coming off the back of last season, I’ll play anywhere to get a starting role in the team.

“The spirit has been high, even when the results weren’t going well for us the spirit was high. We’ve got a good bunch of lads and coming off the back of three wins now, its sky high.

“I started off well, maybe tailed off a wee bit and I’ve hit a bit of form now so hopefully that will continue.”

Rovers face Rochdale on Saturday (3pm). Tickets can be bought ONLINE HERE or by calling 01302 762576.
