Ferguson feeling positive

25 November 2015

Darren Ferguson revealed how pleased he was with his players following last night’s convincing 3-0 victory over Chesterfield.

"I thought they [Chesterfield] started well for the first ten minutes but after that I thought we dominated,” he said.

Goals for Rovers came from Nathan Tyson, Andy Williams and Cameron Stewart, all in the second half.

"I thought we created more than three and on a different night Andy Williams could have had three or four.

"Our wing backs worked really well, they took on the information we’ve given them and I’m pleased with the win.

"I know they had a chance at 0-0 but I thought we were dominant. We had a performance of real energy and I was pleased, really pleased with it."

Nathan Tyson gave Rovers the lead on the hour mark; After initially seeing his spot kick saved by Tommy Lee, he scrambled home the rebound from three yards.

"I said to Nathan and Andy whoever fancies it can take it and I was surprised it was Tyson!” said Ferguson.

"He deserves it for his effort. Cameron's come on and got the third which is great and I must credit my players because I thought they were really good.

Rovers travel to league leaders Coventry on Saturday and will be looking for a similar performance at the Ricoh Arena.

"It does make the game and the result on Saturday a little bit more annoying though. Hopefully that was a blip as we're now four wins from five and puts us in a real positive frame of mind and we go to Coventry with a bit of confidence”
