Supporters in South Stand set to unveil new banner against Stalybridge.

This weekend when we face Stalybridge Celtic in the FA Cup first round a new flag will be revealed and will ‘surf’ it’s way across the Black Bank before kick off.

The Black Bank, which was formed following the results of the "In Rovers We Trust" survey’s (backed by the VSC), and in a bid to improve the stadium atmosphere, is already decorated with some flags and banners and there are more to come!

The 6m x 9m flag which has the face of new manager Darren Ferguson on it and a quote from a recent interview “Donny is my club” was designed by members of the Black Black.

Wesley Grimes of the DRSG - and an active member of the Black Bank – said: "As soon as Darren Ferguson was appointed we picked up the phone to the club to talk about a surfer flag.

“It's a new era and a chance for every Rovers fan to get behind the manager and the club. Hopefully we can assist by turning the Keepmoat into a fortress again.

“The club have been so pleased with the noise and support we've generated thus far this season and it's great for them to repay our support by assisting us in bringing this flag to the Black Bank.

“The flag will be on display for the first time for the FA Cup game against Stalybridge this Saturday. It's a great opportunity for Season Ticket holders to have a go in the Black Bank, you never know, it could lead to a change of end from next season!

“Colchester was absolutely brilliant from everyone in there and every game we seem to exceed the last. Let's keep this upward momentum and hope the players continue to do the same on the pitch.”

Supporters can watch the FA Cup match and be part of the Black Back for just £10 for adults or £5 if you are 17-21. To get your tickets ONLINE CLICK HERE or call 01302 762576.
