This weekend when Rovers face Rochdale we welcome some old players back to the club.
Peter Kitchen, Colin Douglas, Colin Cramb, Barry Miller, Laurie Sheffield, John Buckley, Dave Penney, Simon Marples, Jason Price and John Fairhurst will be pitch side at half time as they are paraded to the crowd. The players will also be in our Legends Club hospitality area pre and post match to chat to guests and supporters alike about "the good old days".To join the stars of yesteryear in the Legends Club call Andrew, Nicola or Jon on 01302 764665.
The day will also see a Legends banner, voted for by fans and created by members of the Black Bank on show for the first time in the South Stand. The banner was put together after a public vote where supporters were encouraged to select their favourite players from various eras. Wesley Grimes a member of the Black Bank said: "The banner stemmed from the wish of all fans to celebrate the clubs cultural heritage.
"From a very early stage of the formation of the Black Bank we wanted to create something that fans of different eras could relate to. We've had some fantastic players at his club over the years and on the banner alone we have 1024 games and 306 goals which equates to a huge amount of happy memories for us all.
"The Black Bank would like to thank every person who voted to give these players their rightful place at the stadium and the club themselves for funding the banner. We feel it highlights the commitment by the club to celebrate our past and to ensure the future of Black Bank continues to thrive."
