Evina: We go again

26 October 2015

Defender calls for Rovers to get back to basics when they complete week long road trip.

Cedric Evina has said that he and his teammates “must go again” when they travel to Millwall on Tuesday night to complete an arduous three successive away games.

Evina played in both the win over Shrewsbury Town and the most recent match; a 4-0 defeat to Peterborough United.

“We let ourselves down, the fans down and the gaffer down,” said Evina of the London Road loss.

“We've been working all week on how we were going to play and we didn’t do what we were supposed to.

“It wasn’t about Darren (Ferguson) coming back here, it was about the way we were going to play and we didn’t play how we were supposed to.

“You’re always learning and it’s a case of getting back to basics and we go again at Millwall on Tuesday.”

The defeat to the Posh was Doncaster’s biggest since March 2014 but came just days after Rovers recorded their first away win of the campaign.

“We caused ourselves our own problems,” bemoaned Evina.

“We knew they were going to play like that and we had to keep the ball better and we didn’t do that.

“(Ferguson’s arrival) has been very refreshing; he's very hands on and knows what he wants.”
