Halloween Spook-tacular

30 October 2015

Doncaster Rovers and Keepmoat Stadium are set for a Halloween ‘spook-tacular’ this Saturday.

Doncaster Rovers and Keepmoat Stadium are set for a Halloween ‘spook-tacular’ this Saturday.

Our junior fans are invited to get dressed up in their scary outfits, take part in the festivities at the Rovers v Colchester game AND have the opportunity to meet the Rovers first team squad at the Halloween disco.

After ‘mummifying’ the community coaches as part of Donny Dog’s (2:10pm) Challenge, Donny wants you to join in with the half time Halloween parade around the pitch – Anyone wanting to join in should be in the South-East corner from 3:40pm – or you can join in as Donny parades around the stadium - please see the nearest steward!

Children are also invited to join Donny Dog in the Thriller dance, which takes place at 3.50pm – complete with Zombies.

After dark, from 5pm, make your way to the Family Stand concourse in fancy dress for scary stories and ghostly walks and the #VSCream experience. Donny Dog and the children will then head to the Belle Vue bar to meet the players at the Halloween  themed disco.

Marketing and Communications Manager Ryan Murrant said: “It is important to the club as a community club to reach out to our supporter groups to help us improve our matchday offerings. Our original plan was the usual fun and games in the concourse, a half time parade around the pitch and a thriller dance with Donny Dog followed by a meet the players disco after the final whistle.

“However, we contacted Alan at the VSC as we know he has a more theatrical background than a European footballer, to see how he could help. The ‘VSCream’ element of the day was born which gives the day another arm, a load more WOW and, with Alan’s creativity he has engineered a spook-tacular ‘add on’ to the day.

“The VSC have been very active both through it’s members and their local contacts to help us create a unique event off the pitch when we face Colchester tomorrow. The VSC are working with us to build and staff a ghost walk for 12’s and under which is unique, scary and fun and should hopefully help get a few more younger fans here on the day.

“The VSC have also helped us create a few quirky surprises that will take place during the game but we can’t say what as it will spoil the surprise! I would like to thank them on behalf of the club for their efforts with this and look forward to seeing it all in action.”
