Doncaster Rovers season ticket holder George William Carr has this week pocketed himself a jackpot £2,000 prize after winning the Rovers Lottery.

The 69-year old from Sandringham Road has been a Rovers supporter since the age of 15 and a season ticket holder at the club since 2004.

As a member of the Rovers Alliance, which goes towards funding the Doncaster Rovers Youth Team, George automatically gets enrolled into the Rovers Lottery as part of his package and has now got his hands on the top prize. FOR THIS WEEK'S FULL RESULTS, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

George visited the Keepmoat Stadium on Monday to collect the prize which was presented to him by football administrator Suzanne Uttley.

Speaking about the win, he said: “I’m really pleased I’ve won the jackpot, it came as a big surprise when we received a phone call from the club this morning.

“I’ve won a few smaller prizes on the lottery in the past, but nothing like this, I’m absolutely delighted.

“The Alliance is a really good scheme and helps the youngsters coming through at the club; I have an allotment which backs on to the training ground so I often see them in action.

“I’m going straight to the bank now to deposit the cheque! I’d like to use the money to treat my wife and go on a cruise that we have been on for the last few years.”

The Alliance is preparing for its annual draw which will see one lucky winner scoop a huge £10,000 sum in front of the Keepmoat Stadium crowd on 12th December when Rovers host Crewe Alexandra.

Supporters have until Monday 26th October 2015 to join and be in with a chance of winning and all Rovers Alliance members are included in the weekly Rovers Lottery draws.
