Stewart Pre-Millwall

27 October 2015

Loanee midfielder wants 'grit' from Rovers.

Cameron Stewart has called upon his teammates to pull together and prove doubters wrong.

The Ipswich Town loanee said that the team required some “grit” to haul themselves away from the relegation zone when they take on Millwall on Tuesday evening.

“I think when you lose games and you’re in the relegation zone then you’ll lack confidence,” he said.

“That’s when people need a little bit of grit in them to not be nervous or scared and go out there and do what they know they can do and do what the manager wants them to do.

“Everyone has to take a bit of responsibility. Obviously there have been a lot of individual errors so everyone has to pull together and move ahead.”

The 24 year old, who has been deployed as part of a front three in recent weeks, could feature alongside ex-Millwall strikers Nathan Tyson or Dany N’Guessan but said that everyone must rise to the challenge.

“I’ve been there a few times and to be honest no game is easy away from home – in League One or otherwise – but I think the boys are ready for it and we’ll prepare right to go down there,” he said.

“I think it might be good for us at the minute, lets get down under the floodlights with a wet pitch and we can get about and be ready.

“The manner in which we lost on Saturday will give us a big lift to go out and show that that’s not us.

“I’d like to think that everyone will be raring to go, if you’re not raring to go against Millwall at The Den then when will you be?”
