A pledge to our supporters

9 September 2015

In keeping with "In Rovers We Trust" Doncaster Rovers Football Club will keep you, our supporters up to date with the recruitment process for the first team manager position of your football club.

The club would like to confirm that the recruitment process has commenced. Over the next 48 hours the club will be drawing up the job advert and officially advertising the position as we look to recruit the best person to manage the first team of Doncaster Rovers Football Club.

As it stands there has already been significant interest in the vacancy, and we can confirm that we have received numerous applications from both agents and potential candidates directly. We have not been surprised by the high quality and calibre of these applicants, but please do understand that the club cannot reveal the identity of any applicant for the role and any names being mentioned for the position are merely speculation and have not come from Doncaster Rovers Football Club.
We anticipate that by week commencing 21st September we will be in a position to draw up a shortlist. We will then contact candidates to invite them in for interviews over the following two weeks. Our promise to you all is that we will not rush into making a decision until we find the right person for the role. We want the right manager for our supporters, the players and for everyone at the football club.
The Chairman, CEO or any member of the coaching or playing staff will not be publicly talking about the vacancy and all communications on it will come through our official channels only.
We will keep you informed throughout and unless anything moves quicker than anticipated the next communication with you all will be on Monday 14th September. On that day we will also confirm all future communication dates on this matter. We hope this is ok with you all.
The next few days at the club will be very busy for everyone at the club as we prepare for the game against Walsall this Saturday. The players now want you to join us all in supporting Rob Jones as he takes control on a temporary basis.
