Former Rover takes up new position with Foundation

10 September 2015

Club Doncaster are delighted to announce that former Doncaster Rovers full-back Tim Ryan has taken on a new role within the Foundation.

Tim has been appointed the new Academy Coordinator/Coach Educator and will see him take charge of the successful Club Doncaster Foundation Football Academy.

The ex defender had an enjoyable spell with Rovers back in the Belle Vue days, helping the club gain successive promotions from the Conference to League One.

He is now hoping to be able to pass on his experience of being a professional footballer and his past three years working within the Foundation to the new students enrolling within the education department in September.

Speaking about the role Tim said: “I have been with Club Doncaster Foundation for 3 years and have worked in several different roles in my time here, from delivering coaching sessions to the local community, to overseeing over 600 young people participate successfully in NCS.

“My biggest passion is coaching, this is where I feel my enthusiastic personality and motivational skills will really blossom.  I am a UEFA- B qualified coach and have over 20 years experience playing professional football and this will be vital in the new position.

“Being a former Doncaster Rovers player, I am looking forward to being a role model helping all of our students maintain high standards and discipline, along with enjoying their time with us here at Club Doncaster and I can’t wait to get started.”

Everyone at Club Doncaster would like to wish Tim the best of luck with his new position.

There are still a limited number of places available for our higher education courses within the Club Doncaster Foundation available for this year and you could be coached by Tim.
