Jones Happy With Anderson Joining

24 September 2015

Corporal speaks to the press about Doncaster's latest squad addition.

Rob Jones has said that new signing Keshi Anderson will bring something new to the table as the interim head coach bolstered his attacking options.

Jones also allayed fears that striker Andy Williams could be out with a facial injury saying that the talisman is “fine”.

“Keshi has had a vast and quick rise to the top,” said Jones.

“A lot of people were discussing him and whether to have a look but I liked what I saw so I’ve taken him.

“He’s quick, powerful, and strong and wants to do well so he came in today and he’s slotted very well in to the group and I’m delighted with him.

“Andy has trained today. Its great news for me and it’s another one to add to the list of the strikers we’ve already got and now it’s a fight for that place or places.”

For Anderson who has arrived for a month, it will prove to be his first taste of the Football League environment, having moved to Crystal Palace from non league, where his goalscoring exploits did not go unnoticed.

“I’ve seen a lot of clips of him and a lot of them have been in non league for Barton Rovers but he looks like he’s desperate to do well and has the bit between his teeth and prove his worth,” said Jones.

“He’s come in today and been great, he’ll add that little bit extra that we’ve been lacking. There’s no pressure on him, he’s got a freedom to play and express himself. Hopefully, added to what we’ve got, he’ll push us forward.

“I think it’s helpful – it’s his first loan move – for all sides. He can look at us, we can look at him and if we fit then great, but initially it’s a month and I can’t see any problems with that to be honest.

“I’m glad he’s in the door, he’s added that bit extra and hopefully he brings something to the table on the pitch.”
