This morning, Monday 14th September, the gruelling charity challenge known as ‘Marathon Madness’ kicked off at the Keepmoat Stadium.Clynton Johnson and Claire Bull – aged 38 and 42 respectively – are both volunteers from Doncaster Cancer charity, The Eve Merton Dreams Trust (reg:1147191.)
They will both attempt to complete 8 Marathons in just 1 week – 4 by foot and 4 by bike – in time to see Rovers in action against Oldham Athletic on Saturday.
The brave pair are completing this task to raise money for Doncaster’s serious and terminally ill Cancer patients, to answer a dream, grant a wish or do anything to help create a smile for both patient and their families during a time they need it the most.
Not only that but the charity will donate 50% of the funds raised to the family of Lewis Siddall, the 24 year old school teacher who recently lost his life in Doncaster town centre.
Lewis recently raised money for the charity himself during the Charity Legends Football Match at the Keepmoat Stadium in May.
