Pitch Perfect

6 September 2015

Grass greener thanks to outstanding work of ground staff.

Keepmoat Stadium has this week undertaken some extensive renovation to the playing surface to continue the good work by head groundsman Jim Davison and his team.

There has been in excess of twenty fixtures already – consisting of both football and rugby league – played on the pitch since a new surface was re-laid during the summer (as shown in the photos below).

Work including the thinning of the grass, ‘Verti-Cutting’ the pitch, adding six bags of seed, ten bags of fertiliser and 30 tonnes of sand.

With just under two weeks to go until Rovers host Oldham Athletic in their next league game at Keepmoat Stadium, the pitch will be ‘Verti-Drained’ next week to ensure it looks ‘Pitch Perfect’ for all concerned ahead of the visit of the Latics.
