Saturday 26th September 2015 (3pm), Sky Bet League One, Bramall Lane.
Doncaster Rovers undertake their first local derby of the season when they travel to Bramall Lane on Saturday to face Sheffield United. Both sides are winless in their last three outings and will see the fixture as a chance to kick-start their respective campaigns.
Since notching their first, and only, win against the Blades in the Steel City in 2009 (courtesy of James O’Connor), Rovers have drawn three and lost one game in four outings.
The latest – an entertaining 3-2 defeat – came less than six months ago. Kyle Bennett bagged a brace and gave Paul Dickov’s side the advantage when he curled home in front of The Kop after 17 minutes.
United’s Jose Baxter responded from the spot having being hacked down by Jamie McCombe in a clumsy tackle on the half hour mark and Nigel Clough’s men took the lead seven minutes in to the second half after good work from Matt Done.
Bennett – on Doncaster’s behalf – equalised though with a goal of the season effort to bring parity to proceedings with 30 minutes remaining, however the eventual play-off semi-finalists would take the points when Steve Davies weaved home.
TEAM NEWS: Nathan Tyson has suffered a set back, while the game will come too quickly for Luke McCullough, Mitchell Lund and Harry Forrester. New signing Keshi Anderson will come in to contention while Andy Williams is expected to shrug off a facial injury.
