Rovers return to Keepmoat Stadium looking to maintain their unbeaten home record which stretches back to the start of April.Rob Jones’ side are one of only five sides in the division without a blot on their copybook at home having registered a win over Fleetwood and draws against Bury, Southend and Oldham.
Doncaster was very much a bogey venue for the Robins who had failed to win in nine attempts prior to March of this year when Marc Cooper’s side recovered from a goal down to nick all three points.
After Curtis Main’s neat finish, Michael Smith – who saw his spot kick saved by Sam Johnstone in the reverse – netted from the spot and laid the platform for former Rovers trialist Jonathan Obika to strike an injury time winner.
It was rough justice on Doncaster who were dealt just their third loss in twenty meetings between the pair.
The sides had met at the County Ground the previous December when Rovers registered a 1-0 win courtesy of a Theo Robinson penalty having executed a game plan expertly.
TEAM NEWS: Loanee Keshi Anderson could be in line to make his home debut, while Harry Forrester could also start having come on as a substitute at the weekend. Rob Jones has said he is available in the absence of the suspended Gary MacKenzie while the game will come too soon for Mitchell Lund, Luke McCullough, Nathan Tyson and Curtis Main.
