Ferguson: Do Our Job

29 April 2016

Darren Ferguson is fully focussed on three points at Crewe tomorrow as Rovers look to take it right to the wire.

With 7 points from the last possible 9, Rovers travel to already relegated Crewe tomorrow looking for another 3 points to close the gap on the teams sitting just above them in the League One table.

Goals from Tommy Rowe and Andy Williams saw Rovers defeat Coventry last weekend at the Keepmoat Stadium.

"The boys have been buoyant and spirits have been good this week,” said Darren Ferguson.

"The message will be exactly the same as it has been. Last week the message was get it down to the final two games and tomorrow the message will be get it to the very last game, but make sure you perform to the levels you have done recently.

"What I do know is that this team is a team that can be good over a short period of time, we’ve proved that.

"The Wigan game was a good one for us because in a sense we had nothing to lose. The message to the players was beat Wigan and you can beat anyone. If we play to that level I honestly think we can win our last two games.”

The reverse fixture with Crewe was one of the most dramatic of the season. With Rovers going 2-1 down on 89 minutes there looked to be no way back for Darren Ferguson’s side, but two stoppage time goals from Cameron Stewart and Andy Williams saw one of the best 93 seconds of the season!

"We have to do our job, I’ve said to the players not to focus on anything else but beating Crewe," Ferguson continued.

"Psychologically if we get the win tomorrow we will be in a really good place going into the final day of the season. The players are totally focussed and fully understand what they’ve got to do. They know they can’t take their foot off the gas"

Tickets are available on the day tomorrow with no increase in price. Be there and back the boys as we look to take it to the final day!
