PREVIEW: Crewe Alexandra v Doncaster Rovers

29 April 2016

Saturday 30th April 2016 (3pm), Sky Bet League One, Gresty Road.

Doncaster Rovers head to Crewe Alexandra with everything to play for in the penultimate game of the 2015/16 season.

Darren Ferguson’s side will be hoping Wigan Athletic can beat Blackpool in the day’s early kick-off and a Rovers victory against Crewe would put even more pressure on Fleetwood Town who are currently safe and don’t play until Monday evening.

A victory for Rovers would see Doncaster go level on points with Fleetwood and keep hopes of a great escape alive.

Consequently, a Rovers defeat coupled with a Blackpool victory would see the Lancashire side go four points above Doncaster with just one game to play.

Rovers will be looking to continue the great form shown over the past two weeks, with great wins against Wigan Athletic and Coventry City.

Back in December  Rovers recorded a last gasp 3-2 victory over Crewe thanks to two injury time goals from Cameron Stewart and Andy Williams.

Marcus Haber and Callum Saunders looked set to give Alex the victory, only for Stewart’s free-kick and Williams’ fine finish in the 94th minute saw  Rovers snatch the three points.

TEAM NEWS: Rovers have no fresh injury concerns.
